10/30/02   Prejudice Awareness Summit

Joyce will be participating in the Prejudice Awareness Summit as a volunteer facilitator on October 30 - 31. The Summit takes place on The University of Texas campus and is for 8th graders in the Austin area.

11/07/02    ASTD Members Helping Members

Joyce has volunteered to do a workshop on The Magic of Instructional Design for ASTD trainers who have never had formal training in designing courses.  The program is part of the Austin ASTD Chapter's annual Members Helping Members event scheduled for November 7, 2002 at the Riverplace Country Club.  For details go to www.austin-astd.org.

12/12/02    Joyce Receives Volunteer Award

Joyce was presented an award from the Austin Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development for her volunteer activities in 2002. Joyce facilitated a monthly Special Interest Group for Job Seekers and was webmaster of the chapter's job line. "Being involved in professional organizations keeps me aware of new practices in my field," Joyce said. "Helping the group is a small way to pay it back for the wealth of information and people it gives me."

02/20/03   Joyce Facilitates Panel

Joyce Batty moderated a panel of e-learning training managers and vendors on the topic "E-learning: Myths and Realities."  The meeting was held at the February 20th monthly meeting of the Austin Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development at the Norris Conference Center, 6-8 p.m.  For more information go to www.austin-astd.org.

04/17/03   Joyce Finds Cracker Barrel Facilitators


To find one speaker for a meeting can be tough. To find six speakers on six different topics can be daunting. When Jylle Joyner, VP of the Austin ASTD Chapter asked for Joyce's help, they came up with membership survey choices, topics and facilitators for all sessions. Joyce facilitated a session on Debriefing Your Training Activities at the annual ASTD Austin Members Helping Members Conference. This resulted in a more detailed MHMR workshop on the same topic in October.

Joyce volunteered as facilitator for the annual Prejudice Awareness Summit to help area 8th graders understand ways to identify and curb prejudice in their schools.

The half-day session of MasterStream Training will be held on 11/17/04 at the American Heart Association Building, 1700 Rutherford Lane, Austin, TX 78754. The session will be from 9:00AM to 11:30AM.
